Nelson Cortes, a 50-year-old resident of Beverly, West Virginia, has been sentenced to 65 months in federal prison for his involvement in distributing methamphetamine. The sentencing, which took place in Elkins, West Virginia, concludes a case prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Warner. Cortes was found to be distributing the drug, at times operating from his residence within Randolph County.

The case was presided over by Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh. This sentencing underscores ongoing efforts by federal authorities to combat drug trafficking in the region.
