Attorney General Anthony G. Brown has announced the launch of a newly modernized website for the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), designed to improve how residents access information and services. The redesign effort, which spanned approximately one year, focused on creating a more efficient and accessible digital experience for Marylanders. Key improvements include a modern, user-focused design with an intuitive layout and clearer typography, alongside streamlined navigation to help users quickly locate the information they need. The site now offers enhanced accessibility features, including content written in plain language and in formats that are easier to read, catering to a broader audience. Recognizing the state’s diverse population, the website also incorporates simplified language translation capabilities. Furthermore, the new platform is mobile-responsive, ensuring optimal performance whether accessed on a smartphone, tablet, or desktop computer.

To achieve these enhancements, the OAG conducted a thorough audit of its existing content, studied successful government websites, and engaged with numerous OAG staff members, content experts, and technical reviewers. DoIT provided essential technical expertise in the design and development phases and will also manage the secure hosting infrastructure, ensuring the website adheres to current web standards.

During a transitional period, the previous website, http://www.marylandattorneygeneral.gov, will remain accessible without updates. Following this period, the old URL will automatically redirect visitors to the new oag.maryland.gov site. The Attorney General’s office encourages the public to explore the new website and provide feedback through a dedicated form to aid in ongoing improvements.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to increase organizational efficiency and improve public service delivery. The modernization of the OAG website signifies a commitment to making government resources more readily available and understandable to all residents of Maryland.
