According to information presented in court, Hoskins was apprehended for selling methamphetamine in close proximity to Overbrook Playground. A subsequent search of his motel room in Elm Grove uncovered a significant quantity of illegal substances, including 150 grams of methamphetamine and 56 grams of fentanyl. During a traffic stop of Hoskins’ vehicle, investigators located nearly $5,000 in cash and the key to the motel room, further linking him to the operation. The prosecution of this case was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Carly Nogay. Several law enforcement agencies collaborated in the investigation, including the Ohio Valley Drug Task Force, the West Virginia State Police, the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wheeling Police Department. U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided over the sentencing.
This sentencing underscores the ongoing efforts by federal authorities to combat drug trafficking in West Virginia, particularly concerning offenses that endanger public spaces. The conviction and subsequent sentence serve as a deterrent to individuals involved in similar criminal activities.
