Between 2013 and 2017, Tarlecki used her position to issue fraudulent paychecks to herself, diverting township funds for personal gain. Investigators say she did not report the illicit income on her federal tax returns, resulting in more than $38,000 in unpaid taxes to the Internal Revenue Service. The fraud also victimized Fulton National Bank, where the altered checks were deposited.

The embezzled funds, originally designated for township operations, could have supported services such as road maintenance, emergency response, or other community infrastructure.
