Per a safety notice filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Lamborghini is recalling 27 Revuelto plug-in hybrid vehicles from model years 2024 and 2025 due to a defect that may cause the doors to close unexpectedly, posing a safety risk to occupants.
The issue stems from improperly assembled spherical pins that secure the gas springs holding the vehicle’s doors open. If these pins come loose, the doors may shut under their own weight without warning, which could injure someone entering or exiting the car. Additionally, the defect may make it harder to open the doors from inside the vehicle during an emergency.

The recall affects 20 vehicles from the 2024 model year, produced between December 20, 2023, and October 28, 2024, and seven vehicles from the 2025 model year, built between November 10, 2024, and February 18, 2025. Lamborghini identified the defect during a final check on June 26, 2025, and confirmed the issue after a field report of a pre-delivery vehicle with insufficient pin tightening. No crashes or injuries have been reported.

To address the issue, Lamborghini will inspect and, if necessary, rework the affected components at no cost to owners. Letters to vehicle owners will be mailed between September 6 and September 11, 2025. Customers are advised not to drive the affected vehicles and to park them outdoors until repairs are completed. Vehicles built after June 26, 2025, have been subjected to revised assembly procedures and improved inspection protocols to prevent recurrence.
