The recall, issued July 3 by Harbor Freight in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, affects about 6,500 units of the Predator 2000W Power Station (SKU #70084, UPC 193175488718). The issue stems from reversed wiring in the AC outlet receptacles when the unit is in Emergency Power Supply (EPS) mode. This poses a shock hazard, especially if users are unaware of the reversed polarity while powering devices during outages or remote use.
The affected power stations are red and black and labeled with “PREDATOR” and “2000 Power Station” on the front panel. They can power up to 11 devices and include multiple AC, USB, and DC outlets. While only one incident of reversed wiring has been reported so far, no injuries have been documented.

Sold between February and April 2025 for approximately $950, the recalled units were distributed exclusively through Harbor Freight Tools stores nationwide. The company has stated it will contact all known purchasers directly. Customers can also return the affected product to any Harbor Freight location to receive a replacement at no cost. For more details or to begin the replacement process, customers can visit Harbor Freight’s website or call the company’s recall hotline.
Consumers are reminded that it is illegal to sell or resell recalled products, and using affected devices could pose a serious risk during critical emergency scenarios.
