Owners of 2025 Ford Broncos should prepare for two separate recalls affecting over 30,000 vehicles nationwide, potentially putting passenger safety at risk. The recalls target specific four-door models built earlier this year and involve defects with rear door child safety locks and the front passenger airbag system.

The first recall, affecting 27,768 vehicles produced between January 21 and April 29, 2025, addresses an issue with the left rear child safety lock. According to Ford, these locks may not work even when switched to the “ON” position, allowing the rear door to be opened from the inside. This malfunction increases the risk of injury to children or unrestrained passengers in the back seat. The problem stems from internal interference within the latch mechanism caused by manufacturing deviations. Affected owners will be notified and offered free inspection and part replacement starting the week of June 23, 2025.

The second recall involves a smaller group of 2,272 Broncos built from April 26 to May 12, 2025. This issue relates to the front passenger airbag, which may not deploy safely in a crash due to a faulty plastic flange in the venting mechanism. The defect, traced back to a manufacturing issue at the airbag supplier, could result in higher pressure during deployment and an increased risk of injury. Affected vehicles will receive replacement airbag modules at no charge, with owner notifications expected to begin the week of July 28, 2025.

Both recalls were approved by Ford’s Field Review Committee on June 6, 2025, following internal audits and investigations. No injuries or crashes related to either issue have been reported so far. Vehicle owners can verify if their Bronco is affected by contacting a Ford or Lincoln dealership or calling Ford’s hotline at 1-866-436-7332.
