The accolades reflect not just individual excellence but also department-wide performance. The Borough Council presented a unit commendation to the Criminal Investigations Division (CID), which played a critical role in resolving numerous felony-level cases over the past year. Between March 10, 2024, and May 4, 2025, the CID’s efforts led to multiple arrests, directly impacting community safety by removing dangerous offenders from the streets.

These developments are significant for Chambersburg residents, as they highlight both accountability and effectiveness in local policing. With crime resolution being a persistent concern in many towns, this recognition suggests that law enforcement resources are being utilized efficiently, and criminal cases are being aggressively pursued and closed.

The department also acknowledged the vital support provided by the families of officers. While not part of the day-to-day operations, the backing of loved ones is considered essential to sustaining the mental and emotional well-being of those in uniform. For the public, this serves as a reminder of the broader network of sacrifice involved in maintaining community security.
