Boelter, 57, is accused of impersonating a police officer and fatally shooting Speaker Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and severely injuring another lawmaker couple at their homes in Brooklyn Park. A vehicle with police lights was found at the scene, and a manifesto listing targeted political figures was recovered from the area. Officials have described the killings as politically motivated and deliberate.
The FBI’s Minneapolis Field Office is leading the manhunt in partnership with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and local law enforcement. Authorities in the area warn the public not to engage with anyone claiming to be law enforcement unless they can confirm the presence of two officers and verify credentials by calling 911.
