Federal safety officials are alerting consumers to immediately stop using Petgravity Smart Interactive Car Toys due to serious safety concerns. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the toys violate mandatory federal regulations related to button cell and coin battery safety, posing a significant ingestion hazard to children. The cat toys, sold exclusively online through Amazon by the Sanchio Store, contain a lithium coin battery in the remote control that is easily accessible and lack required warning labels.

According to the CPSC, the design and packaging of the Petgravity toys fail to comply with Reese’s Law, which mandates strict performance and labeling standards for consumer products with button or coin batteries. Swallowing such batteries can cause severe injuries, including internal chemical burns, or even death. Despite receiving a Notice of Violation from the agency, Sanchio Store, operated by LYsolcusnee Guangzhoulinlikejiyouxiangongsi of China, has not offered consumers a remedy or recall solution.

The products were sold between March 2024 and November 2024, retailing for $12 to $17, and were available in orange and blue variations. Each package included an automatic car toy, remote control, feather accessory, tail rod, charging cable, and a preinstalled CR2032 lithium battery in the remote. “PETGRAVITY Smart Interactive Car Toy” is printed on the packaging. The CPSC urges consumers to safely dispose of the toys and batteries following local hazardous waste guidelines and advises against selling or giving away the items.
