A federal safety warning has been issued against children’s sleepwear sold by CowKid Clothing Company, citing violations of flammability standards that pose a serious risk of burn injuries or death. The notice affects long-sleeved pajama sets and lace-trimmed nightgowns sold online between $38 and $52 at cowkidclothingcompany.com. The pajamas, labeled with “Cowkid Clothing Co,” are made of 95% cotton and 5% spandex and were available in sizes from 2T to 14/16Y. The nightgowns, featuring white lace trim, were sold in sizes ranging from 12-18 months to 10/12Y. Although the CPSC tested only select prints, the agency is advising consumers to treat all variations as unsafe.
Despite being issued a Notice of Violation, CowKid Clothing Company, based in Graham, Texas, has not agreed to recall the products or provide a remedy. The garments were manufactured in China and sold in several designs, including Poinsettia Christmas, Western Unicorn, Almond Horse, and various cowboy-themed prints.
