We know you value local news and entertainment that is free, open, and independent. Producing high-quality, paywall-free content isn't free. It takes time, effort, and resources to keep you informed and entertained. Unlike corporate media, we don’t have deep-pocketed investors or big advertisers funding our work—we rely on you, our readers and listeners, to keep Radio Free Hub City running. We're literally running on a shoe-string budget, but keep working hard to provide as much news and entertainment as we can.
If just 5% of local area residents became paid supporters at only $5 per month, we could meet our fundraising goals and continue expanding our news coverage depth while continuing to provide free access for everyone. So, if you'd like to help us in our continuing quest to improve our coverage, please consider becoming a paying supporter.
Will you be one of the 5%?

The tournament follows a four-person scramble format and includes a player package featuring a round of golf with cart, team photos, goodie bags, and a 50/50 drawing. A highlight of this year’s event is a buffet-style luncheon catered by local chef John Wallis and the team at Maddie Ann’s Kitchen. Competitors will vie for prizes awarded to the top three teams, as well as individual contests for Longest Drive and six Closest to the Pin awards.
An added attraction this year is the Pebble Beach Hole-In-One Contest, which gives one participant the chance to win a luxury golf vacation for two to Pebble Beach, complete with airfare and accommodations. This experience is sponsored by PAM Health, the tournament’s Platinum Event Sponsor.

We didn't pick our name by accident. While other outlets are proud to be government 'Partners,' we are proud to be exactly what our namesake requires: Free from government influence, and free from government censorship. We don't lock our news behind a paywall, will you help us keep it that way? If you're tired of news sweetened with confirmation bias that never questions the 'official story', consider becoming a monthly supporter. Just $5/month helps fund our local reporting, live election night coverage, and more.
Registration is open until Monday, June 2, with entry fees set at $95 for individuals, $350 for a foursome, and $425 for a foursome with a business appreciation sign. Sponsorship opportunities begin at $125, and details are available on the tournament’s official website. Organizers hope to surpass last year’s attendance of nearly 100 players and the $14,000 raised, which directly supported shelter operations, veterinary care, and adoption services.
In 2024, CVAS facilitated nearly 800 adoptions, reunited 200 pets with their owners, and conducted close to 900 spay/neuter procedures. Proceeds from the golf event play a crucial role in maintaining these efforts to care for the region’s homeless animals.
