Ford Motor Company is recalling 47 units of its 2025 model year F-150 Full Hybrid Electric Vehicles due to a manufacturing defect that could result in a sudden loss of power, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall, identified by NHTSA as 25V-199 and Ford’s internal number 25S29, affects trucks produced between January 30 and February 5, 2025.

According to the company, the affected vehicles were built with high voltage battery junction boxes containing a fuse with an incorrect amperage rating. Specifically, a 60-amp fuse was mistakenly installed in place of the required 150-amp fuse. This error could cause the fuse to blow when the vehicle is operating in electric-only mode, triggering a “Stop Safely Now” warning and resulting in the vehicle losing motive power.
The issue was first identified on February 6, 2025, at Ford’s Rawsonville Components Plant during routine end-of-line inspections. Further investigation revealed that the incorrect fuses were supplied to the battery junction box assembly line, a mistake traced back to a sub-supplier. Ford reviewed supplier and production records, as well as in-station camera footage, to determine the scope of the affected units.

Ford’s Critical Concern Review Group began assessing the situation in early March, and by March 21, the company’s Field Review Committee had approved a field action. Although six vehicles were referenced across eight total reports—including two warranty claims and one customer report—no accidents or injuries have been linked to the defect.
Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by mail beginning April 14, 2025, and are advised to bring their trucks to a Ford or Lincoln dealership to have the incorrect fuse replaced free of charge. Those who already paid for similar repairs may be eligible for reimbursement under Ford’s existing plan filed with NHTSA.
