Honda has issued a recall for approximately 2,340 accessory heaters installed in certain side-by-side off-road vehicles, citing risks of fire and burn injuries. The heaters, compatible with select Honda Pioneer and Talon models from model years 2022 through 2025, have been linked to overheating incidents, including two fires resulting in vehicle damage.

The recalled heaters were sold separately for use with 2022–2024 Pioneer 1000, 2023–2025 Pioneer 700, and 2022–2024 Talon 1000 vehicles. These units feature a control panel mounted on the dashboard, offering temperature, airflow direction, and fan speed controls. While the vehicles themselves are not recalled, consumers who purchased and installed the accessory heater are advised to stop using it immediately and contact an authorized Honda Powersports dealer to arrange a free repair. Honda is reaching out to all known buyers directly.

The recall comes after Honda received three reports of the heater system overheating, two of which led to fires and damaged vehicles. There have been no injuries reported in connection with these incidents. The heaters were sold at authorized Honda Powersports dealers across the country between January 2022 and September 2024, with prices ranging from $900 to $1,040.
