Thor Motor Coach has issued a safety recall for 4,251 motorhomes manufactured between 2023 and 2026 due to a wiring defect that could allow the slideout to operate without the parking brake engaged. This defect presents a safety risk, as the slideout could potentially deploy while the vehicle is in motion, creating an obstructed view and increasing the risk of an accident, property damage, or personal injury.

The affected vehicles include various models built on the Ford E350 and E450 chassis, including Axis, Chateau, Coleman, Echelon, Eddie Bauer, Four Winds, Freedom Elite, Freedom Traveler, Geneva, Magnitude, Outlaw, Pasadena, Quantum, and Vegas. The defect was traced back to an error in the pinning of the park brake wire harness, identified by the wire harness department on March 10, 2025. Production was corrected on March 11, 2025, with an updated print to address the issue.

To remedy the situation, Thor Motor Coach will replace the incorrect park brake harness free of charge. Owners can determine if their vehicle is affected by attempting to cycle the slideout room with the engine running, the transmission in park, and the parking brake disengaged. If the slideout moves, the harness is miswired. Vehicle owners are advised not to push the slideout button while the vehicle is in motion.
