Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) has announced a voluntary recall of 3,919 vehicles from model years 2024 and 2025. The issue stems from improper accessibility of headlamp aim mechanisms, potentially reducing driver visibility and increasing crash risk.

The problem was identified during an internal investigation that began in early February 2025. Chrysler found that affected vehicles were built with a vertical headlamp adjustment that cannot be accessed without tools, contrary to federal standards requiring tool-free access. Additionally, these vehicles allow access to horizontal adjustments, which is not permitted for certain headlamp types. These conditions violate Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108.
The suspect vehicles were manufactured between March 21, 2024, and January 29, 2025. Chrysler determined that similar vehicles produced outside this window or repaired prior to leaving the factory are not affected. The recall remedy will involve modifying the vehicles to provide access to vertical headlamp adjustments while disabling access to horizontal adjustments where necessary.

No warning signs or alerts are available to drivers indicating the issue. The fix is considered an assembly error rather than a defective part, involving a plug on the headlamp adjustment mechanism. Chrysler plans to notify dealers on March 27, 2025, and begin notifying vehicle owners on May 9, 2025. Eligible owners may also seek reimbursement under Chrysler’s existing General Reimbursement Plan, submitted in October 2024.
