Nearly 90,000 wireless power banks sold under the VC Group’s Velvet Caviar brand are being recalled after multiple reports of overheating and fire incidents. The recall, announced March 20, 2025, stems from a defect in the lithium-ion battery, which poses serious fire and burn hazards.

The affected product is the MagSafe Wireless Power Pack Portable Power Bank, designed for use with MagSafe-compatible phones and earphones. Each unit has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and features “Velvet Caviar” engraved on the front and printed on the back. The model number ZHX-PB21 and PO numbers ranging from PO-PP001 to PO-PP010 appear on the back. Units lacking a PO number are also included in the recall.

Consumers are urged to stop using the power banks immediately. VC Group is offering a free replacement for affected products, provided users submit a photo of their unit with “Recalled” written on it. Instructions for disposal of the batteries emphasize the importance of following local recycling regulations, as these lithium-ion batteries require special handling and should not be discarded in household trash or standard battery collection bins.
