Ascent Consumer Products Inc. is recalling its SinuCleanse Soft Tip Squeeze Bottle Nasal Wash System nationwide after tests found it was contaminated with harmful bacteria. The company announced the recall on February 25, 2025, warning that the bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), could cause serious infections if the product is used.

The recalled product comes in a box with a squeeze bottle and 30 saline packets. It has the lot number 024122661A1 and an expiration date of December 31, 2027. It was sold in stores and online across the country starting in January 2025. If used, the contaminated product could lead to infections, especially in people with irritated or injured nasal passages. Possible complications include sinus infections, vision problems, meningitis, and serious infections in the heart, bones, or joints. So far, no one has reported getting sick from using it.
Anyone who has this nasal wash system should stop using it immediately and either throw it away or return it to the store. Stores and distributors have been told to take it off shelves. The company is reaching out to customers and distributors by email.
