Leesburg Police have arrested three individuals in connection with a series of organized retail thefts targeting local stores. The suspects, all from Suffolk, Virginia, were apprehended following incidents at two retail locations on January 15, 2025. The arrests uncovered over $8,000 worth of stolen merchandise and led to multiple felony charges against the individuals.

The first incident occurred around 7:48 p.m. at the Polo Ralph Lauren store on Fort Evans Road, where merchandise was reported stolen. Shortly after, an employee at Dick’s Sporting Goods reported suspicious activity involving three individuals concealing items. Officers responded promptly and located the suspects at the Dick’s Sporting Goods location, leading to their arrest.
Further investigation revealed that the suspects had traveled from Suffolk to Leesburg specifically to carry out the thefts. A search of their vehicle uncovered stolen merchandise and tools believed to facilitate the crimes. The three individuals face charges that include larceny, conspiracy to commit larceny and possession of burglarious tools.

The suspects were identified as Natesha L. Cheeks, 29, who was released on a $1,000 bond; Tanajah S. Harrell, 26, who remains in custody without bond; and Shakira V. Mizzelle, 23, who was released on her recognizance. Police have indicated that additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
