Authorities reported that the constable arrived at Austin’s residence on W. Edwin Street in Williamsport, PA to serve court-ordered eviction documents. When the apartment door was slightly opened with the assistance of a building maintenance worker, Austin allegedly threatened the constable, warning, “If you come in here, I have something for you,” while brandishing a handgun. The constable withdrew and called for assistance.

Responding to the incident, officers from the Williamsport Police Department, Lycoming Regional Police Department, Penn College Police Department, and probation officers secured the area, evacuating nearby residents for safety. Law enforcement engaged in verbal negotiations with Austin for approximately 50 minutes before entering the apartment.
