Preparing for Hurricane Milton

As Hurricane Milton approaches the Gulf Coast of Florida, Team Rubicon is preparing to scale up operations once again. Route clearance teams are pre-staged outside the predicted path of the storm to ensure they can rapidly clear access roads for first responders and residents after the hurricane’s landfall. These preparations are taking place even as the organization continues its response to the devastation left by Hurricane Helene.

Team Rubicon is calling for increased resources as they ready to support the communities expected to be impacted by Milton. The organization remains committed to providing timely, effective disaster response and has received crucial support from partners like Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, which has helped to fund these critical operations.

A Veteran-Led Organization with a Global Mission

Founded with a mission to assist communities before, during, and after disasters, Team Rubicon relies on a network of over 180,000 volunteers nationwide. Half of these volunteers are veterans, and the remaining 50% include first responders and civilians who are dedicated to providing disaster relief. The organization’s commitment to service has earned it top ratings from charity watchdogs, such as Charity Navigator, ensuring donors that their contributions are used efficiently and effectively to help those in need.

As Team Rubicon continues its work in the wake of Hurricane Helene and prepares for Hurricane Milton, their dedication to supporting disaster-stricken communities remains unwavering. For more information or to support their efforts, visit Team Rubicon’s website.
