The individual apprehended has been identified as Dwayne Purdie Jr., 31, of Baltimore, Maryland. Purdie faces multiple charges, including felony drug distribution, two counts of possession with intent to distribute narcotics, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl/heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The incident occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m. on Sunday when a Trooper from the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack conducted a traffic stop on a Honda Accord. The vehicle was traveling east on the inner loop of Interstate 695 before Green Spring Avenue and was pulled over for suspected driving under the influence. During the stop, numerous criminal indicators were present, prompting investigators to conduct a K9 scan of the vehicle.

According to the preliminary investigation, the K9 scan yielded a positive alert, leading Troopers to search the vehicle. During the search, they discovered suspected cocaine, hallucinogenic mushrooms, ecstasy, and heroin.

Following the discovery, Purdie was arrested and transported to the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack for processing. Subsequently, he was taken to the Baltimore County Detention Center where he was seen by a District Court commissioner and later released.
