Tacoma, WA News (9/18/2023) – Abundant Grace Church, in partnership with Faith House Ministries, stands as a beacon of hope for the homeless and individuals seeking refuge from addiction, abuse, and adversity. For years, they have provided shelter, sustenance, and support to around 40 people, including men, women, and families. However, the organizations now face an imminent threat of eviction, with $50,000 in overdue rent and $21,000 in unpaid utilities, leaving them in dire need of financial assistance.

Abundant Grace Church and Faith House Ministries are not federally funded and rely solely on tenant contributions and donations from the community to operate. The programs are driven by a long-term residency approach, offering more than just temporary housing. They provide a holistic environment that supports individuals on their journey to recovery from addiction, escape from abusive situations, combat credit score discrimination, and work towards reforming their lives.
The dire financial situation has even led the church’s pastors, Mike and Kathy Dance, to make personal sacrifices by giving up their home and taking on additional work in construction, landscaping, and the restaurant industry to keep the ministry afloat. Despite their tireless efforts, the mounting financial burden has become overwhelming.
“We are seeking a miracle in this situation, and with your prayers and support, we believe we can overcome this crisis,” said Kathy Dance. “Every donation counts, and your generosity will make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.”
Faith House Ministries operates as a sober and safe house, with a primary focus on building leaders within their community. They offer a range of services, including housing, meals, life skills training, transitional support, counseling, and unwavering support.
