Washington County Resumes Recycling

HAGERSTOWN, MD – The Washington County Government Solid Waste Department announced today that the collection of recyclables will resume on Monday, April 18, 2022.

Recycling was paused at the 40 West Landfill and all Transfer stations due to an equipment failure at a facility not owned by the county, but required for county processing of recycling.

The county also issued a reminder that plastic bags, plastic wrap of any kind, and styrofoam are not accepted in recycling. The county also thanked its permit holders for their understanding during the interruption of service.
