Date(s) of Sightings: Most recent abt. 1932

Description: Very large bird-like creature with sharp beak, sometimes tentacles. Sighted in Western Maryland.

Specific Incidents

1932 – Either Frog Hollow or Catoctin Mountain Park (historical accounts differ). Supposedly the snallygaster was overcome by fumes from a moonshine still and fell into a vat. Revenuers came shortly after, destroying the moonshine still and creature.
