Franklin County, PA – Young residents of Franklin County and their families are invited to a free Halloween celebration hosted by local law enforcement and first responders. The annual Trunk or Treat event, coordinated by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, aims to foster positive interactions between the community and those who serve in public safety roles. The event is scheduled to take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on October 27 at Chambersburg Area Middle School North, located at 1957 Scotland Ave. in Chambersburg.

The Trunk or Treat event offers a safe and family-friendly environment for children to enjoy trick-or-treating. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes. Representatives from various county departments, alongside local law enforcement agencies, first responders, and community organizations, will be present to engage with the public. This initiative seeks to build stronger connections and understanding between the community and its public safety personnel.

Organizations interested in participating in this year’s event are invited to contact Gage Yeager via email at gayeager@franklincountypa.gov. For those wishing to contribute to the festivities, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting donations of sealed, individually packaged candy. These donations are crucial for the distribution to young attendees during the event. Candy contributions can be delivered to the Sheriff’s Office at 14 N. Main St., Chambersburg, during regular business hours. The deadline for candy donations is October 26, allowing sufficient time for preparation before the event.
