To qualify for the scholarship, applicants needed to be high school seniors residing in Franklin County, accepted into an accredited higher learning institution, and demonstrate financial need. Additionally, students were required to maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average and be involved in extracurricular activities and community service. The application process also included submitting three letters of reference, one of which had to be from a high school guidance counselor, along with other required documentation.
The five scholarship recipients for this year are Sawyer Allen of Greencastle-Antrim High School, who plans to study anthropology and philosophy with a pre-law focus at the University of Pennsylvania; Tara Brown of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, who will pursue nursing at Messiah University; Camellia Holthaus of Fannett-Metal High School, who intends to study music education at Gettysburg College; Luke Metz of Commonwealth Charter Academy, who will study theology and apologetics at Liberty University; and Kenney Tripp of Greencastle-Antrim High School, who will study advertising and public relations at Susquehanna University.
