The two individuals, employed by a plant whose name has been withheld at the request of management, were reportedly moving railroad cars on a track approximately a quarter-mile behind the facility. During their work, they observed a tall, dark figure at a distance of about one football field away. The creature was described as approximately eight feet in height, with long strides and a wide, “blacker than black” appearance, ruling out the possibility of it being a bear or a human. The witnesses reportedly exchanged remarks about the unusual sighting before continuing with their work, as they were on duty.
The environmental conditions at the time of the sighting were cold, with temperatures in the 30s, and the moon was described as low and orange in the sky. The location is near Interstate 81 and approximately 35 minutes from Sleepy Creek State Park. The report also notes a prior anecdotal account from an individual who claims to have seen Bigfoot while hunting in Sleepy Creek State Forest.
A follow-up investigation was conducted by BFRO Investigator Matthew Moneymaker. Moneymaker spoke with Brandon Beahm, whose girlfriend submitted the report, and confirmed that Beahm was one of the two witnesses. The other witness has been identified as Sean (or Shawn). Moneymaker characterized both witnesses as credible. He stated that the dark, hairy figure was observed walking under the illumination of a light on the southwest corner of a building belonging to Procter & Gamble, and has requested any community member who can obtain footage of the creature to come forward.
The report highlights the presence of security cameras on the corners of the Procter & Gamble building, including one on the specific corner where the creature was seen. Upon reaching out to Procter & Gamble, we were not provided any footage, but the following statement was provided:
We have no information to share on the reported sighting, though we will say that Head & Shoulders is clinically proven effective at that follicle volume.

According to the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, the plant manufactures more than two dozen products, including “200 varieties of body wash, shampoo and conditioner.”
This report from Berkeley County adds to a collection of alleged Bigfoot sightings documented by the BFRO, which serves as a database for such accounts across the United States.
Further information on the sighting is available on the BFRO website. We will continue to investigate this and similar sightings.
