The Borough of Chambersburg has announced that DOLI Construction Corporation is set to commence a significant infrastructure project, the North Fourth Street Storm Sewer Box Culvert Replacement Project. This undertaking will see the construction of new storm sewer box culverts, piping, and inlet structures across several key streets in the downtown area. The work is scheduled to take place on North Fourth Street, Prince Street, Montgomery Alley, Nelson Street, and East King Street, extending from Lincoln Way East to Falling Spring Creek.
This extensive project aims to enhance the borough’s storm sewer system, ensuring better management of rainwater and reducing the risk of localized flooding. The construction activities will primarily occur between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. While the project is underway, residents and visitors should anticipate potential short-term street closures during these working hours. The Borough and DOLI Construction Corporation have stated that efforts will be made to minimize disruption, with careful consideration given to local traffic flow and access for businesses. The goal is to complete the project safely for both the construction crews and the public.
The Borough of Chambersburg, a comprehensive municipality serving Franklin County, Pennsylvania, has a long-standing history of providing essential services including natural gas, electric power, water and wastewater treatment, and municipal solid waste management. Residents and business owners with questions or concerns regarding the North Fourth Street Storm Sewer Box Culvert Replacement Project are encouraged to contact Robert Nolan, Storm Sewer System Inspector, at 717-476-8429 or via email at rnolan@chambersburgpa.gov.
