Pennsylvania Man Faces Federal Charges for Dog Fighting and Drug Trafficking

A Hazle Township, Pennsylvania, resident has been indicted on federal charges related to dog fighting and drug trafficking. According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Brandon Crum, 39, is accused of possessing and training eight American Pit Bull Terriers for the purpose of engaging in animal fighting ventures. The indictment also alleges that Crum distributed methamphetamine on multiple occasions and possessed methamphetamine, cocaine base, and cocaine with the intent to distribute them in Luzerne County.

The investigation into these allegations was conducted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Pennsylvania State Police. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kyle A. Moreno. Federal law stipulates that the maximum penalty for these offenses can include life imprisonment, followed by a term of supervised release, and significant fines.
