The Kroger Co. has announced a recall of approximately 3,680 Halloween-themed skeleton wax candles due to a fire hazard. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported that the ornaments attached to the candle are flammable, posing a risk of fire and burns to consumers.

The recalled product is a Halloween-themed Skeleton Wax Candle. This item features a white candle housed within a black plastic bowl, which also contains skeleton and pumpkin ornaments and a duck candle. A key identifier of the affected product is a misprinted warning label on the plastic container that reads “WANING: PLASTIC CONTAINER AND ONAMENTS ARE FLAMMABLE.” Additional labeling on the container includes a red price sticker indicating $7 and a warning stating, “This product not intended for use by or accessible to children 12 years of age or younger. MADE IN CHINA” along with the model number D310800CN01. The candles were sold nationwide at Kroger stores, including Dillons, Fred Meyer, Fry’s, Smith’s, and King Soopers, between September 2025 and October 2025. The importer of these candles was Carole Accessories, Inc., based in Los Angeles, California, with The Kroger Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio, listed as the retailer. These products were manufactured in China.

Consumers who have purchased these recalled candles are advised to immediately stop using them. The Kroger Co. is offering a full refund in the original form of payment for the returned product. To receive the refund, consumers should return the recalled candles to any Kroger store. For further information or assistance, consumers can contact The Kroger Co. toll-free at 800-576-4377. The customer service line is available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to Midnight ET, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. ET.
