Kicking off the month’s teen events is the Anime Club, scheduled for Wednesday, October 8th, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This recurring program, held on the second Wednesday of each month, provides a space for young anime enthusiasts to gather, watch their favorite series, and engage in discussions. Following that, Art Adventures will take place on Thursday, October 9th, also from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This hands-on session, held in the Makerspace, will delve into the world of artists, their distinct techniques, and the scientific principles that influence their work, culminating in participants creating their own artistic pieces.
Later in the month, on Wednesday, October 22nd, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, teens can participate in Teen Game Night. This session will feature Talisman D&D, described as a dynamic fantasy board game that incorporates quests, character development, battles, and decision-making. The library notes that no prior experience is necessary to join in the fun, making it accessible for newcomers to the game. This event also occurs on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
The month will conclude with a special after-hours event, “Escape the Library: Halloween Murder Mystery,” on Friday, October 31st, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This Halloween party is tailored for teens aged 12 to 18 and will challenge their deductive reasoning skills. The library encourages costumes for this event, which will also include games and refreshments. Unlike the other listed programs, registration is mandatory for the murder mystery event. Interested teens can sign up by contacting the library directly or by visiting the circulation desk.
These programs are designed to provide enriching and entertaining opportunities for the community’s youth during the month of October.
