In Poland, Secretary Noem was welcomed by President Andrzej Duda, who expressed gratitude for America’s enduring partnership and praised President Trump’s past visits and ongoing leadership. Duda emphasized the significance of U.S.-Poland ties, particularly in areas like civilian nuclear cooperation and visa-free travel. The Polish president also encouraged deeper bilateral engagement and relayed a message of trust and solidarity to be shared with President Trump.
Secretary Noem’s visit to Israel included a direct meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during which she restated President Trump’s firm position on preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear capabilities and highlighted efforts toward regional peace. While in Israel, Noem also led a memorial ceremony for victims of a recent terrorist attack in Washington, D.C., reinforcing the emotional and strategic bond between the two nations. Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar joined her for a candle lighting and tree planting in memory of the victims.

In Bahrain, Secretary Noem became the first U.S. Homeland Security Secretary to visit the United States Coast Guard Patrol Forces Southwest Asia. Her visit underscored the strategic importance of Bahrain’s naval facilities, which support over 200 U.S. Coast Guard personnel and multiple USCG Cutters. She discussed the future of maritime defense under the Force Design 2028 initiative and President Trump’s push to elevate the Coast Guard into a premier global force. Secretary Noem also met with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to reaffirm the decades-long U.S.-Bahrain relationship and review key regional security operations.
The tour concluded in Rome, where Noem engaged with Italian Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi. Their discussion focused on shared objectives in combating transnational threats such as human trafficking, smuggling, and organized crime. The meeting highlighted continued transatlantic cooperation to protect citizens and uphold legal order on both sides of the Atlantic.
