A Colliers resident has pleaded guilty in federal court to methamphetamine distribution, marking the latest conviction in an ongoing regional effort to combat drug trafficking in northern West Virginia. Lawrence James Reagan, 40, who is also known as “Larry,” entered his guilty plea before U.S. Magistrate Judge James P. Mazzone. Federal prosecutors allege that Reagan distributed methamphetamine in Hancock County, although the specific details of the transactions were not disclosed in court documents.
The case was investigated by the Hancock/Brooke/Weirton Drug Task Force, a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA)-funded program aimed at curbing narcotics activity in the region. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carly Nogay is handling the prosecution for the Northern District of West Virginia.

Reagan could face a prison sentence of up to 20 years, depending on the final decision of the district court judge, who will consider the federal sentencing guidelines and other relevant legal factors. A sentencing date has not yet been announced.
