An 18-year-old Iranian citizen was taken into custody by U.S. Border Patrol agents in Michigan after illegally entering the United States from Canada by crossing the St. Clair River. The incident, which took place on Sunday, was reported by local residents who observed the individual carrying a paddle board near the riverbank.

Responding to the tip, agents from the Marysville Border Patrol Station located the man on the U.S. side of the river and determined he had just made an unauthorized entry. The individual, who was identified as an Iranian national legally residing in Canada, was apprehended without incident.
Following the arrest, the man was processed for expedited removal, a procedure used in immigration enforcement to swiftly return individuals to their country of origin or last legal residence. In this case, the individual was returned to Canada after processing.
