On February 24, 2025, around 12:01 AM, officers responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 300 block of W King Street. A silver Hyundai Elantra stopped in the roadway, and a male passenger exited the vehicle, attempting to enter a parked car. Tool marks were discovered on the ignition, indicating a possible theft attempt. The suspects fled northbound on N Franklin Street when confronted by the vehicle’s owner. Authorities have released images of a person of interest and the suspect vehicle, urging anyone with information to come forward.


In a separate incident on February 6, 2025, a package was stolen from an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Hollywell Avenue. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity in the area and provide information that may assist in identifying the perpetrator.

Additionally, on January 17, 2025, at approximately 8:00 PM, a male and female suspect entered the Big Lots store at 184 Southgate Mall and left without paying for merchandise. They were seen departing in a red Kia Borrego. The police have released a photo of a person of interest related to this case and are seeking public assistance in identifying the individuals involved.

The Chambersburg Police Department urges anyone with information regarding these incidents to contact them at 717-264-4131 or submit a tip through the Crimewatch portal. Community involvement is crucial in addressing and preventing such crimes.
