The Maryland Car Rally Task Force, in conjunction with multiple law enforcement agencies, successfully dismantled six large-scale illegal car rallies over the weekend, resulting in two arrests. The operation, which began Sunday evening, targeted organized car meets, known as “Chipeos,” that were scheduled to take place on public roadways and in parking lots across Prince George’s, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, and Howard counties. High-visibility patrols were instrumental in preventing significant disruptions, including exhibition driving and the closure of roadways, that could have been caused by crowds of up to 100 participants.
