D-SNAP allows those who would not normally be eligible for SNAP benefits to receive assistance if they meet specific disaster-related criteria, including income limits and disaster-related expenses. The program provides one month of benefits equal to the maximum amount for a household’s size, which can be used at authorized retailers, including select online options. West Virginia residents can apply for D-SNAP in person between March 17 and March 21, 2025. The state will release further details about application sites through local media.

Those seeking more information can contact West Virginia’s Department of Human Services or call 2-1-1 for assistance.
